Fine art painter Håkan Bremberg was born in Umeå, a town in the northern part of Sweden, and grew up in the nearby Holmsund. Umeå today has about 130 000 inhabitants but at the time when this artist was born, there were only about 20 000 persons living there and 2 500 in Holmsund.
